US Population 2024

United States of America (U.S.A.) has population of over 330 million which is ranking 3rd most populous country in the world after China and India. USA is also Word’s 3rd largest country with size of 9.834 million km².

In terms of population distribution around 66% of the population lived in states along the three major coasts: Atlantic Ocean (38%), Pacific Ocean (16%) and Gulf of Mexico (12%).

Based on our research US population will reach 340.627 million by the end of 2024. The calculation is based on the average growth rate of 0.63% over last 12 years since 2011. We believe using the recent years’ figures (see the table below) will make the estimation more accurate.

Population Growth of US

The reasons behind the growth are: growth of birth rate, longer life expectancy and growth of immigrants.

It is projected the population of USA will reach more than 334 million by 2020. That means every 5 years, more than 10 million people will be added to the population. If USA continues with the current average population growth rate (0.78%), by 2050, US population will reach 400 million and by 2060 it will reach 416.8 million.

According to US Census, the makeup of ethnic groups are: white 79.96%, black 12.85%, Asian 4.43%, Amerindian and Alaska native 0.97%, native Hawaiian and other Pacific islander 0.18%, two or more races 1.61%
